César Lara is director of Entailment and Institutional Development and coordinator of the Ethical, Legal and Social Issues Research Center of Genomic Medicine for the National Institute of Genomic Medicine (INMEGEN) in Mexico. He is also officer for Ethical, Legal and Social Issues of the Mexican Society of Genomic Medicine (SOMEGEN). He is also Executive Secretary of the Ethics Commission of the National Institute of Genomic Medicine, Mexico and member of the International Working Group (IWG) Ethics, Governance and Public Participation of the International Public Population Project in Genomics (P3G Consortium).
César Lara obtained his degree in law from the National Autonomous University of Mexico (UNAM) and a specialist degree in Law, Health and Bioethics from the Mexican Autonomous Institute of Technology (ITAM). He has a Master’s degree in Ethics of Biomedical Research from the University of Chile. He was awarded a fellowship from the Fogarty National Institutes of Health (NIH) of the United States of America in Ethics of the Biomedical Research. He is specialist in Intellectual Property from the Pan-American University of Mexico. César Lara has been involved in the development of health care innovation models, intellectual property and business incubators related to genomic medicine. |
